Laima Grigone and I (Anna Brimley) took part in a collaborative project in 2011, with art pupils from Falmouth School, and Gyllyngdune Gardens, Cornwall. The task was to help the students build a site specific sculpture exhibition for the opening of Gyllyngdune Garden’s recent renovations.
We helped run the workshops and worked through the students’ ideas with observational drawings and giant group sketches. After the ideas were flowing, the students started designing their sculptures and thinking about materials. One workshop took place at the Falmouth Maritime School, where the possibilities of fibreglass as a sculptural material were explored.
